Clients tell us all the time that they need to have a dynamic web site, but many of them do not know what a dynamic site really is. The point of this article is to end the confusion on the matter.
Many people confuse the technology of Flash with what is truly dynamic. Flash is one of the most exciting technologies on the web, but it is only dynamic when coupled with a database of some kind.
Static (boring) websites have no database. All information on a static web site is contained on the files that are located on the root folder of the web site. This works well for smaller sites, but larger sites are impossible to manage this way because information is cumbersome to change. First of all, every time the web site needs updating a web designer must to be hired. That makes changing the content expensive and inefficient.
